12/21 ~ Brown Bear Children’s Center – Christmas II

Hola Padres,

Please forgive me for not writing the last two weeks. The last two weeks were spent reviewing all the material we’ve done so far this year, and learning some of the fruits and shapes. Also, in the last two classes, we reviewed all our Christmas vocabulary and finished our Christmas book.

I’ll be attaching a Rodolfo el Reno (Rudolph the Reindeer) coloring sheet for the kids to color over break. It would make a nice gift for somebody if the kids would enjoy coloring it and giving it to a family member.

As today will be our last class for 2011, I’d like to say that I truly enjoyed teaching your kids this year, and I’m very excited to start learning more songs and vocabulary in January. If the kids could practice what we’ve done so far this year, that would be great!

Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Melissa

12/12 ~ Magic Years Christmas Part II

Hola Padres,

Today is our last Spanish class at Magic Years until January. It has been a pleasure working with your children in 2011. I’m excited to start some new materials in the new year as well.

Today, we’ll be practicing the song Cascabel (Jingle Bells) again, as well as finishing the book La Primera Navidad de Clifford (Clifford’s First Christmas.)

The Christmas words we’ll be practicing are:

  • Navidad – Christmas
  • Feliz Navidad – Merry Christmas
  • Arbol de Navidad – Christmas Tree
  • Regalos – Presents
  • Papa Noel – Santa
  • Reno – Reindeer

Any help at home practicing these words or watching the videos I’ve posted would be wonderful. Additionally, I’m attaching the link to a coloring worksheet of Rodolfo el Reno (Rudolph the Reindeer.) I hope the kids have a great time coloring them in.

Have a wonderful Christmas and holiday season!!

12/2 ~ Magic Years Nursery School – Christmas

Buenos Dias, Padres!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving (Dia de Gracias) with your families. I’m excited to start the Christmas theme with the kids today. We’ll be reading the first part of a book called “La Primera Navidad de Clifford” (Clifford’s First Christmas.) If you have it at home in English, I’m sure the kids would be excited to read it in both languages.

Also, we’ll start to learn the song “Cascabel” (Jingle Bells.) I’ll post the video below. It’s a little fast on the video, but it’s a good one because it also has the lyrics. Please have your kids watch the video a couple times this week to practice the song. I’d like them to learn it by Christmas, as I’m sure they’ll be excited to show it off in front of family and friends. :)

There will be no coloring homework today. If your kids haven’t done the Mariposa (Butterfly) or the Pavo (Turkey) worksheet, they can do those this week.

Gracias for working with your children at home on their Spanish!

Melissa
